U.S. Air Force

Requirement

The Air Force required system engineering and application services support for the migration of Air Force electronic systems to the Global Combat Support System – Air Force (GCSS-AF) Integration Framework, host to the Air Force Portal (https://www.my.af.mil). The GCSS-AF program modernizes, consolidates, develops, and integrates Air Force and Department of Defense combat support information systems.

Exeter Solution

Exeter performed IT sustainment, integration, migration, and elements of Tiers 1, 2, and 3 help desk support for this major Air Force system. Exeter also performed all application services integration and deployment activities in pre-production and production environments, supported respective regression testing, and employed in-depth knowledge of security requirements and Air Force Instructions (AFI). Since GCSS-AF is the gateway to the Air Force portal, Exeter’s support was instrumental in enabling over 850,000 (1.3 million logins) worldwide users per week to use the AF Portal upon the GCSS-AF application services framework.

Through our work in support of GCSS-AF, Exeter gained extensive experience supporting USAF applications through their complete system development life cycle. With a primary focus of systems integration, application development, data services, and web services, Exeter has developed or supported a substantial number of application systems within the Business Electronic Systems (BES) Capabilities Integration Environment (CIE) and GCSS-AF enclave. Some highly visible applications we have supported include Base Site & Expeditionary Systems (BaS&E), Financial Information Resource SysTem (FIRST), and Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS).

Exeter has supported the Air Force since 2003.
