Requirement
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) required Health Information Technology software, training, and information technology support services to manage their information that supports the Government’s Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Exeter Solution
The CMS database is comprised of multiple mid-tier applications and is the repository for all health-related information that supports the Government’s Medicare and Medicaid programs. Specifically, Exeter provides health information technology support services, including application design and development, testing, integration, deployment, maintenance, architecture support, and security services in support of CMS enterprise. Exeter employed the PTC Integrity Product: Source Integrity, to provide full version control, and Integrity Manager, to automate, manage, and enforce processes throughout the entire application development life-cycle.
Exeter also supports the development, implementation, integration, and security of multiple CMS systems and mid-tier applications, such as the Integrated Data Repository (IDR), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH), Affordable Care Act (ACA), Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System (PECOS), and Electronic Submission of Medical Documentation (esMD). In providing this support, Exeter implemented a participatory development process with the government that focused on the early identification and resolution of problems through routine, frequent requirements, design, and development reviews.
Exeter has supported CMS since 2012.
